This steel grill grate fits the Fourneau Wood-Fired Pizza Oven + Grill basic. We cut these from 3/16" plate-steel in the Fourneau Factory. Each grate is hand finished and coated with food-safe, grape seed oil seasoning.
The wide flat bars of this grate transmit heat effectively for searing, while the 1/2" wide gaps in the grate allow tasty hardwood smoke and vapors to flavor your grilled creations. Integral bent handles make it a synch to change our your grilling accessories.
Maintain your grill grate the same way you care for your cast iron cookware. Store indoors in a dry place away from wet cookware. Wash and dry your grate after each use and rub with a light coat of grape seed oil before storing and the next use.
Steel cooking surfaces will rust with prolonged exposed to water, by washing in a dishwasher, by being stored wet, or being left outside. Light rust is easy to remove with steel wool or an abrasive pad. With care and attention, steel cooking surfaces will last indefinitely, gaining enhanced performance with consecutive applications of oil seasoning.
