The Fourneau Bread Peel is made in the USA from solid maple. Sized to fit the Fourneau Oven perfectly, it's the ideal tool for manipulating dough and finished loaves. Coat the surface of the peel liberally with natural bread crumbs or cornmeal to prevent dough from sticking.
This is the same high-quality peel that comes with the Fourneau Classic. Please note that since each peel is made from natural lumber, each will be unique.
Solid maple peels should only be lightly washed with water and never soaked or run through the dishwasher. Maintain your peel with a coat of mineral oil every now and then when the surface is looking dull. An extra rich patina can be developed by applying oil with 320 grit or finer sandpaper or extra fine steel wool.
